About Me

Hi there!

Lovely to meet you!!

I’m Ingrid, and I’m the voice, gardener, photographer and videographer behind gardening.with.ingrid, and I live in the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Australia.

I have a passion for garden transformation, taking un-loved or dull garden spaces and transforming them for my clients into beautiful and welcoming spaces. This skill has naturally lead me to assisting my clients for the sale of their houses, creating gardens that improve house appeal and attract buyers.

At home and online I’m passionate about chemical-free gardening, growing food from home and teaching others to do the same. I am married with 2 young children and a much loved rescue dog named Bessie.

I am often receiving thank you messages and emails from clients and followers who tell me how amazing my transformation of their garden space was, how I saved a plant or that they now have beautiful flowers and bountiful veggies after following my tips... this is what makes me want to keep on doing what I do! I love helping others.

My blog is about making garden transformations and growing food easy! I'm all about sharing tips and how-to's that you can follow to get the best out of your garden. I want you to find your green thumbs and like me be able to sit in your garden and really enjoy the space you have created.

simplify gardening and growing food so you can get out there and grow!

A bit about me...

I am the youngest of three girls and was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia. Both my parents are European migrants. My Dad is from The Netherlands (which is where I get my height and love of tulips from!) and my Mum is from England (which is probably why I love tea and dry-jokes!). I'm very much an Aussie though and grew up on a property with horses, chickens, ducks and lots of kangaroos!

Most of my adult life I have been a nurse... (Hard to believe now!) I worked in both hospitals, aged care and for many years I taught both nursing and aged care students. My current life is vastly different from my previous nursing life and I am so lucky that I can spend my days with my children in the garden doing what I love and sharing it with people all around the world!

Growing up, some of my best memories are in the garden with my parents and grand parents and even back then I enjoyed a day of hard work digging, planting, growing food and getting my hands dirty. I absorbed all I could from my talented family of gardeners.

I want to show you how simple gardening and growing food can be and that by following my tips and tricks, you can do it too!
